Biography

Dr. Anne Lyon is currently a transplant hepatologist at University of California San Francisco, where she also serves in several education leadership roles across the spectrum of medical training. She is the associate program director for the Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship. She is rotation director for the Pediatric residency outpatient subspecialty experience in an effort to cultivate earlier exposure and interest in Pediatric GI/Hepatology. She mentors medical students through several longitudinal clinical experiences at the UCSF medical school.

Dr. Lyon's research focuses on medical education, looking particularly at curriculum development to promote mastery of difficult skills and earlier autonomy among trainees. This work integrates her love of education with her passions in patient care. She has created a simulation experience for Peds GI fellows to improve their care of chronic liver disease and currently oversees the simulation at six sites across the country.  

Dr. Lyon earned her medical degree at the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UCSF, where she also served as chief resident. She completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Boston Children's Hospital and a fellowship in pediatric transplant hepatology at Stanford University.
