Biography

Clinical Professor of Pediatric Critical Care with over 20 years of experience caring for critically ill children, including those with acute liver failure and those recovering from liver transplantation. Currently serves as the Critical Care Director of Abdominal Transplant, with a focus on optimizing outcomes for complex surgical and medically fragile patients. Serves as Medical Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team, providing oversight for the safe and effective transfer of critically ill children across a wide geographic region. In addition to clinical leadership, has contributed to the development of Pediatric Sepsis and Septic Shock Guidelines through international collaborative efforts for the Surviving Sepsis Campaign. Work in global health has included developing educational curricula and helping establish pediatric intensive care units in resource-limited settings, with a focus on sustainable capacity building. Actively involved in critical care teaching for many years, including the development of curricula for ICU fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students. Actively engaged in research throughout her career, with involvement in numerous clinical and translational projects. Most recently completed a Biodesign fellowship, further expanding expertise in healthcare innovation and medical device development.
