10.1 Women's reproductive health and liver transplant

Biography

Monika Sarkar, MD, MAS is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of GI/Hepatology at UCSF, where she founded the UCSF Women’s Liver Program. She is a fellow of the AASLD and AST, and former chair of the AASLD Women’s Committee. She is current chair of the AST Women’s Health committee, leading patient and provider education surrounding reproductive health and career advancement for female professionals in transplant. Dr.Sarkar’s NIH-funded program evaluates the influence of reproductive hormones on liver disease progression, as well as pregnancy outcomes in women with liver disease and liver transplant.
